On the Road for the Lord

Why we travel like we do

by Paul Estep, Evangelist

I love to drive, just ask anyone who knows me.  There's something about being on the road that thrills me.  With gas prices what they are (and thank the Lord they are lower than last year) it makes it hard to travel as much as I'd like.  But, I've never let the price of fuel dictate where we minister.  Since January, 2007 we have traveled over 102,000 miles (through July, 2009).  Just this year we have ministered in Texas, Wisconsin, Colorado and many other locations in the tri-state area where we live.  We've ministered in churches and festivals, campgrounds, parks, basically anywhere there are people who need to hear the Gospel.

But why do we do it?  Why do we devote so much time and effort to travel and sing and preach in so many different locations?  We are all called to take the Gospel to all parts of the earth.  I believe that one of the least evangelized areas of this world is right here in America.  Yes, there are plenty of evangelists in America and there are lots of churches, but there aren’t many that actually promote the full Gospel and a call to salvation.  That’s the ministry of Revival Ridge.  We “preach” the full Gospel (not doctrine or man’s ideas) through the spoken word and song.  It might seem old fashioned, but how can you argue with the results:  People obtain salvation, lives are changed, churches are set on fire for the Lord, and people beg for more.

People are hungry for the “real” Word.  People want to hear the truth of the Gospel.  They want hope.  They want to believe.  That’s what Revival Ridge offers them.  That’s why people say, “Please come back again soon!”

Here we are, Lord.  Send us!
